the owlery is at the top of the west tower. the owlery is a circular stone room that holds hundreds and hundreds of different kinds of owls, including both the school owls and owls that students have brought as pets, all nestled on perches that rise right to the top of the tower. none of the windows in the owlery have glass and so it is rather cold and draughty. the floor is covered in straw, droppings, and the "regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles".
